Hi! My name is Betty Liu and I will be serving as the 2024-2025 President of NiHao Food Bank Initiative. I am 15 years old and currently a sophomore at The Hockaday School. I joined NiHao in 2021 and have been part of the youth program for over 2 years. When I’m not volunteering at NiHao, I am a full-time company dancer at Happy Feet Dance School and a teen court attorney at the Allen Municipal Court. At school, I am part of the Hockaday Drill Team, the Hockaday Dance Theater, and am on the Student Relations Board. I am also involved in clubs such as Asian Student Association (ASA) and compete with Hockaday Model UN. Outside of academics, I enjoy playing the piano, hanging out with my friends, and winning pickleball matches. I hope with this opportunity and my experience, NiHao can grow as an organization. Hello! My name is Andrew Cai, and I'm a senior at Greenhill School in Addison, TX. I joined NiHao at its inception, and I look forward to being NiHao's Executive Vice President of Marketing this year! Before this position, I was also the Vice President of Membership, the Video Production Manager, and a member of the Marketing Team. I'm excited to continue to help this fantastic organization fight against hunger in North Texas, and I hope to grow NiHao's presence online even more! In my free time, I enjoy watching and making short films, with one of my short films even being selected for the All-American High School Film Festival and the Dallas International Film Festival. I've also applied these skills to NiHao, and have made many short-form videos for our social media. I also enjoy playing video games, playing the piano, and practicing Kendo (Japanese bamboo fencing) with my local Plano Dojo. I'm excited to work together with my fellow officers, and I hope we can continue to help NiHao grow!

Vivian Chen is a 11th grader at The Episcopal School of Dallas (ESD). She is eager to help the community through servantship and leadership. Vivian understands the importance of giving through the community, and that is one of the main reasons why she decided to volunteer at the North Texas Food Bank. As a studious and diligent student, Vivian participates in many clubs including the Medical Club and World Languages Club. Some of Vivian’s hobbies that she enjoys in her free time is drawing and reading.

Harris Xie is a senior at the Greenhill School in Dallas and has been with Nihao from the very beginning, serving as President, Executive Vice President, and Vice President of Activities. He is eager to support the current officers with his experience and offer advice to new and returning members. His goal is to continue helping Nihao fight hunger in our community and grow as an organization by expanding its influence and organizing unique fundraising events. He is a strong advocate for Asian American activism and engagement, and outside of school, He is actively involved in several clubs and leadership roles, including national debate. He has a passion for STEM and biological research and is a avid fan of basketball and fantasy football.

Kathy Xia is a junior at TAMS at UNT and will serve as the Vice President of Membership for the upcoming year. As part of the Nihao membership team, she will be striving towards expanding Nihao influence and recruiting new members to join the Hunger Cause. Academically, she is passionate about STEM and scientific research as well as holding leadership positions at school clubs. Outside of school, she is active in various entrepreneurial and nonprofit organizations, leading others to better our community through fundraising drives and volunteer activities. In her free time, she enjoys a variety of hobbies including violin and drawing. She is looking forward to serving in the Nihao leadership team, bonding with other departments, and meeting new members!

Hi! My name is Wendy and I’m a Sophomore at the Episcopal School of Dallas. I’ve been a part of NiHao for three years, and a part of the Marketing team for two of these years. I’m excited to serve as the VP of Activities this year as well as a social media manager to spread the news of NiHao! In my free time I play field hockey and piano, and at school I am a part of the community service council, Ambassadors, Investment Club, and Quiz Bowl. I’m so excited to continue serving NiHao this year!

My name is Sam Gu, and I am NiHao’s social media/video production team manager. Volunteering has always been a great passion of mine, and I believe by creating content we can introduce NiHao and Nihao’s philosophies to a larger audience. Some of my other hobbies include badminton, debate, photography/cinematography and more. I also have a great passion for STEM, especially science and technology. I believe that with some of my professional skills, I can contribute to making NiHao a more recognized organization.

Carson Liu is a 7th grader at Highland Park Middle School. He will serve as Manager of Activities for 2024-2025 and is looking forward to collaborating and promoting various exciting upcoming NiHao events. In the past, he was involved in several NiHao activities, including Peanut Butter Drive, NiHao concert, and Pack and Box NTFB volunteer services, etc. Carson is an avid tennis player and competes in many USTA tournaments. He also loves to play cello when he has downtime. Carson is looking forward to working with other officers and members to expand NiHao's values and commitment to service for our community.

Hi! I am a sophomore at Allen High School. I will be serving as the 2024-2025 Nihao Activities Manager. I’ve been a part of the Nihao Organization for two years now. My hobbies include playing the flute and dancing. I am part of the Allen Escadrille, or the Allen Band. I enjoy attending and participating in various clubs and organizations in and out of school. I also love to listen to music and am passionate about STEM related courses. I'm an avid reader, and am enthusiastic about participating in the Peanut Butter Drive, the Dragon Boat Festival, and monthly packings at NTFB. I am looking forward to a great season this year with the Nihao Youth Program!

Claire Ying is currently a junior at The Hockaday School. She will be a manager of Membership for NiHao for the 2024-25 school year. She has been a part of the initiative for 2 years, and has enjoyed volunteering at the NTFB as well as at fundraisers. At school, she is the co-founder and co-president of Futures for Fine Arts club, which creates and introduces arts curriculums to DISD students. She was also voted for her third consecutive year on the student relations board, which helps integrate new Hockaday students into the school, much like the roles of the Membership branch at NiHao. Outside of social impact, Claire spends much of her time doing visual arts, and dancing, both outside of school and as a part of her school’s dance program.

Ella Liu is a senior at Allen High School and holds the position of membership manager for NiHao. She is an avid volunteer across the community, enjoying helping children by volunteering in the City of Plano and at nearby clinics and hospitals. Ella is involved in many activities, including being the communications officer at her school’s Math Honor Society. Outside of school, she is involved in IDEA International, where teachers teach Chinese students English, and she serves as the social media manager, as well as the Youth Entrepreneurship Society (YES), where she serves as the historian director. She also runs her organization National Bright Leader of Tomorrow, where they help special needs people across North Texas. In her free time, she enjoys playing the piano, playing tennis, listening to many Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, and Tate Mcrae songs, and doing anything art-related. Ella is excited to work with fellow NiHao officers and make this year a successful year.

Hi, my name is Leila and I’m currently a junior at Plano Academy High School and I’ll be serving as a Membership Manager for the 2024-2025 school year. For NiHao this year, my goal is to spread the word about this organization and to bring it to the attention of a whole new audience. In school, I am involved in being the 3rd year Representative of NHS. Outside of school, I enjoy finding internships and volunteer opportunities to participate in. As for hobbies, I enjoy reading and writing very much as well as scrapbooking. I am very much looking forward to spreading the word about Nihao this year.

Isabella Luo is currently a junior at The Hockaday School. She will serve as Manager of Social Media for the 2024-2025 year. For NiHao this year, she aims to continue working to promote NiHao influence online and spreading awareness about food insecurity. In school, she is involved with a variety of activities such as being in Vibrato, the Fine Arts Board, and the Varsity Softball team. Outside of school, she participates in STEM activities such as robotics and research based programs. As for hobbies, she enjoys reading and cooking different types of cuisines. She is excited about serving the community with NiHao this year.

Serene Wang is a junior at the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science (TAMS) and previously attended Westlake Academy where she was the president of the DECA chapter and Arts Club. As part of NiHao’s Marketing team, she will create and share media that promotes NiHao’s mission and spreads awareness about food insecurity within our community. She is responsible for drawing and designing NiHao’s mascots Nini and Haohao. In her free time, she is painting or practicing piano and cello. She also enjoys reading and spending time with her friends. She is looking forward to continuing being involved in NiHao’s packaging days and events and cannot wait to see what this year will bring NiHao!
